About Us

     My name is Mark Kurtz. I have been raising birds now for a long time. My days are enriched due to the time that I have with my companions.

     I now have 10 birds living with my family. We have 5 macaws and 5 amazon parrots. My friends refer to me as the bird man. It is a nick name that I aquired in grade school.

     I have helped a lot of families with pet birds. To me training and caring for birds is second nature. These are some amazing animals, but they have always gotten a bad rap. People just dont understand birds and I think the lack of knowledge is to blame. Most of my friends now have birds too. Once they meet a bird that is well behaved and trained properly they are amazed by them and usually want to have one of their own. 

     In my book I discuss alot of  the problems that I had in the beginning.  When I started on this journey I knew very little about birds.  The more informed I became the easier it got.  I wasted alot of time on research because information was so hard to come by.  My goal is to inform you so that you are prepared and know exactly what to expect ahead of time.  Like my mom always said "My first son was a spoiled brat but I learned. The second child turned out much better." Much to the same my first Macaw was out of hand, but the second parrot was a dream.
